Eastover Cottage – The Master Suite

In continuation of our Southern Living Eastover Cottage tour, today we’ll take a peek at the Master Suite.  (To see the previous posts, Click Here.)

The Master Suite is on a small hallway off the Dining Room.  Around the corner is another hallway with the “Hers” closet and the Master Bath with the Bedroom beyond.

Mom went all out in her closet with 2 seashell chandeliers and a tiny ceiling fan!

Across from Her closet is the Master Bath.  The separate vanities are along the right wall.

The vanities are almost identical except “His” is several inches taller.

Along the opposite wall is “His” closet, the massive shower and the toilet.  The floor tile is from Costco.

The shower has onyx pebble tile, green-blue glass mosaic tile and 3 shower heads.

The Master Bedroom isn’t huge, but it has double doors onto the side porch which it shares with the office.

  1. Does anyone know the brand of the onyx pebble tile used in the shower?

    • The onyx pebble tile is transparent onyx from the Toemi Island Rock. It is a small company out of Florida and the homeowners ordered it from a local tile showroom.

  2. Thank you SO VERY much for posting/pinning this… we are in the process of finding land to build our version of the Eastover Cottage on for our family to grow up in for the next 20 years! My style is different but it was so wonderful to get to tour the home and see what the space actually looks like… are there any tips that your parents might have as far as things they wish they may have done differently? … id love to learn from their journey!

    • I still need to ask if my parents have any changes they wish they had made. I would have put a transom over the powder room door to let light in during the day. Or, I would have tried to find another place for the powder room all together so it’s not right in front of the front door. I would also have combined the back hallway and laundry room into one mud room/laundry room. Their HVAC is right outside their bedroom window and that probably could have been placed somewhere else.
